#TransformationTuesday Since I started my chemotherapy two days ago, I am preparing for my hair to fall out by buzzing it shorter. It’s sort of a cleansing process as I prepare myself for a long, difficult road ahead. And I don’t mind how I look with it shorter, so hey 😝💁🙆

What you’re looking at is my left hip: the dressing for the incision and the pump to help drain the excess fluids. The results of the biopsy are in, and it turns out that I have a stage 1 Ewing’s sarcoma, a form of cancer. It’s inside my left femoral head, so after a couple months of chemotherapy, I will be getting the top half of my femur removed and in it’s place a replacement hip. I am very thankful that the doctors and surgeon were able to catch it this early because right now it’s very beatable. So I may not be my normal self over the next couple months, but just know it’s because I will be fighting this and trying to make the best of everything. I would appreciate if I didn’t receive any visitors over the next couple days because of these new circumstances. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes.

Amy Winehouse - Take the Box

Co-written and produced by Amy Winehouse and Luke Smith (Keyboardist/Producer) for her debut album in 2003, Frank. Released as the album’s second single on 12 January 2004, it was the highest-charting single from that album, peaking at no. 57 on the UK Singles Chart. The line “Frank’s in there and I don’t care”, refers to her dog of that time of the same name. The album was also named after him.

The single for Take the Box features an exclusive B-side, titled Round Midnight. The song’s content covers Winehouse as she leaves her lover after discovering he is having an affair. The song details her acceptance of the fact that its over as she tells the lover to literally “take the box” of stuff he left.

Frank is an overlooked gem and I couldn’t stop playing this at the time; I had a feeling she was heading for bigger things, but with a sound aimed at the Katie Melua audience. Rehab changed all of that, and her, forever.
